Went to the mountains with Mommy last weekend. Went hiking around Deer Springs, the cabin, the regrowth, and the River a bit. Took a couple pics (see below). While certainly not restful, it was very enjoyable. BBQ'd and made S'Mores! Escaped the heat of the desert valley. Generally a very good time.

It's very hard to believe it's been 10 years since the 2000 fires. It's hard to see how devastated the land-sides still are. Skeletons of trees standing charred and naked on the hillsides, surrounded by the pale-colored brush that is slowly taking back the ground.

In other news, I think I gave up on coloring. I'll still do it, but in my own time. I don't work well with time restraints (like we didn't see that one coming, right?) so it's easier I don't try to confine myself to too many of them at a time. (That sounds like a bad pun in the making.) Until I find something that grabs my muse and demands my undivided attention until it's done, that is.
